So, the blogging expert Ryan Miller answered one of the questions I posted to him over at his blog on Maxim's website. He shortened it down, excluding two of the other questions I asked, but I'm glad he answered one!
Ryan, love this blog. It's almost like listening to a conversation rather than reading. I hear that hockey players are superstitious. I see some things that you do like circle before you leave the ice. Is it true or is just out of habit? - JB
It started in college, where two of my teammates would wait on either side of the bench gate leading to our locker room. I liked being last and it started off smoothly enough, but by midseason everyone had a routine, secret handshake or tap on the shin pads for the guys who waited by the gate. I just timed it so that I would skate off until that got ruined everytime by someone taking too long, so it turned into a loop. From there, it just kind of stuck. The funny part is, for all my routines I look insane and the purpose of routines is to eliminate overthinking. It's what may be keeping me sane.
Awesome. :)

Waiting And Waiting And Waiting
Kristina and I got on the waiting list tonight for Sabres season tickets. :)
This made my night, because, to not get into it, I had a somewhat crappy day. Now I have a hundred dollars less than what I normally have but it's worth it. Even if that means I don't get tickets this year. Well, that would piss me off a little bit, but...eh. It's out of my hands.
Apparently, if you don't get tickets for this year, your "non-refundable $100" goes towards tickets next year. And this is the line that Kristina and I were sold on:
"The $100 per seat deposit will be required to maintain your priority status, with all funds being applied to your season ticket purchase once a suitable seat location has been agreed upon."
:)
Kristina and I were uneasy at first because we figured "Okay, we're gonna get stuck with 300 level seats, and we don't want that." But now that the website practically promises to negotiate seats, I love it. I'm so sold.
We were discussing seating arrangements. For me, I would love practically any seat in the 100 level, except for the ends. I would either love A) directly behind the bench where Kristina and I sat at our last game, the 7-4 win against Tampa Bay when we came back in the third period with 6 unanswered goals, or directly behind Crunchy's net.
Now we shall wait. Until then, we'll be using our discount at the Sabres Store!

It Was SO Worth $40...
So, after reading Katebits' blog and learning that this website let's you donate money to sponsor a favorite player of yours for a full year, I figured, "What better way to waste $40 on Ryan Miller?" and snagged him.
I mean, let's face it, I also hate reading stats and trying to figure them out, but I love Crunchy so much that I just had to snag him. I just HAD to. And as my message says on Crunchy's Hockey Reference page, who knew that dark chocolate and raspberry tasted so good together?

Crunchy's Blog
If you haven't read it by now, head on over to Maxim's website and read Ryan's very own take on the 2008 NHL playoffs. He gives amazing insight, and adds a little humor of his own, as well.
Go take a glance, and check back often because he writes fairly regularly.
